Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the tour last?

The tour lasts approximately 3.5 – 4 hours from start to finish. Things such as timeliness of other tour guests, weather and how much we’re all enjoying ourselves can vary the timings of the tour slightly.

When are the tours?

Every weekend in Fitzroy, between 1:00pm – 4:30pm and Wednesdays – Fridays in the CBD between 10:00am – 3:30pm.

What is included in the ticket price?

Your ticket price includes your wonderful tour guide, a goodie bag filled with information around veganism, as well as ALL food and drink.

Come hungry and be prepared to fill up on delicious vegan food! At some venues, we will share platters of food to create a true community feel – there’s plenty for everyone! There’s also chance to shop up a storm at a number of vegan venues that we will visit as well. Your tour guide will take you to each venue and give you a personalised experience of dining out at Melbourne’s finest vegan venues!

Do I have to be vegan to be a guest on the tour?

No, while we’d love you to give Veganism a try we’re certainly not here to pressure you. We’ll do our best to illustrate that going Vegan in Melbourne is one of the best ways to meet new and fascinating people & businesses, enjoy amazing food and feel comfortable that you’re making a difference in the world.

Discussion and conversation is encouraged, but all we ask is that you respect the beliefs of the other Vegans on the tour and understand that it is a tour based on the philosophy of being Vegan.

Are the places we visit all vegan?

Our first priority is that all the venues are 100% plant based or vegetarian, and we’re passionate about supporting and encouraging businesses to make the shift towards being Vegan. Sometimes, due to availability we may need to visit venues that offer animal products but have a large selection of unique Vegan options.

How long do we stay at each venue?

Depending on the meal and how much fun we’re having, we spend from 30-45 mins at each venue. Allowing you enough time to savour the food and enjoy the company with other vegans.

Which venues do you visit?

Each tour can differ slightly, depending on the day and time of the week. Meals range from Asian fusion starters to Israeli street food or 100%plant-based gelato and our non-food stops may be to vegan skincare or fashion stores. We work with our partner businesses based on their availability to provide the solution we think is best based on the group size and dietary recommendations.

Are the tour guides Vegan?

Absolutely! All tour guides on Melbourne Vegan Tours are passionate vegans that are involved in the Melbourne Vegan community and are working to grow the Vegan movement across the city and the country.

Do you offer any animal products on the tour?

NO. All meals offered during the tour will be 100% Vegan.

Do you cater for other dietary requirements?

Yes, we work with the venues to cater for dietary requirements. Please make sure you note any requirements on your booking so we can let the venues know before we arrive.

How far do I have to walk?

Not far, but please wear comfortable shoes. It takes approximately 5-10 minutes to walk between each venue at a leisurely pace.

Is the tour accessible for people with a disability?

Unfortunately, not all venues offer mobility access as there are 1-2 steps at each venue. We’re working on solutions to provide further accessbility options and with each of the venues to try and provide a solution so eveyone can enjoy the tours.
